Facebook friend Samantha asked for some advice about shooting a simple courthouse wedding. As it was a quick hour or two on a Monday afternoon (not the most popular time for weddings/events) I offered to come help.  I've never seen so many people at a courthouse wedding.  There must have been 30 or 40 happy family members celebrating the union of Jon and Kayla.

Kara and Mike / Detroit Wedding Photography

Yesterday, we had the exquisite pleasure of covering the wedding party for Kara and Mike.  First, getting ready in Troy, MI, then pix at the Detroit Yacht Club, then the big event at the Detroit Club.  Congrats Kara and Mike!  Here's a sneak peak...

Couple of weeks ago, we covered an event for the National Defense Industrial Association.  It was their annual black-tie dinner at the Grosse Pointe Yacht Club.  Toward the end of the evening, a young lady seeks me out and says, "My boss is about to be proposed to outside. C'mon!"  So off we went.

Event Photography: Building Dedication in Detroit

I was recently asked to cover an exciting building dedication on the east side.  The Mack-Ashland project brings supportive housing and new retail space to an area of Detroit on Mack, just north of Chalmers.  It is a lovely brand-new building with lofts, one, two, and three bedroom apartments designed to help the homeless and others in challenging situations return to some normalcy as they get back on their feet.  It is a product of the partnership of many organizations.  Kudos to all involved.
